I am part of a family of college students & young adults called Awaken. Our purpose is to awaken our hearts to the call of God and to awaken the hearts of those around us to see Him and to know Him.

Some of the Awaken Group after our camp-out last weekend!

This semester we are joining with Impact Campus Ministry to host a week-long “SERVOLUTION” project in our community called “I AM ONE.” I am ecstatic about this project, to say the least. My heart is in mission work and I believe that the greatest joy comes from giving and serving others. I love the heart-connections and the soul-smiles that come from giving without expecting anything in return. Giving just because I love you. Just because God loves you.

The “Servolution” project will be during the week of April 14-21. We will be serving in our community and on our campus in different ways all week long! Some of these projects include community outreach and dramas, an on campus food bank for students in need and a missions banquet to support non profit organizations in Statesboro. This is only a small portion of what we will be doing and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!

What can you do to help? We are collecting Bibles to give away to Georgia Southern students and we need donations! Most people have at least one extra Bible at home and there are so many students who do not have a Bible or the extra money to purchase one. We would love to collect enough Bibles to give out to every student who comes to pick up food from the on campus food bank! However, we are not limiting God and if He provides more than necessary, we would love to give Bibles away all week long! If you are interested in donating a Bible please email me at ellynhodges@gmail.com or you can make a monetary donation using our PayPal link in the right margin of this page- Just write in the “For” Box that the donation is for Servolution Bibles.

Servolution is about the power of ONE. One person can change the world. One person can make a difference. All it takes is one.

God showed me recently that standing apart and being unique isn’t being different than everyone else in a physical way. It isn’t listening to different music or wearing different clothes or having different attributes than other people necessarily. It is, rather, standing apart from society and the norm and taking a stand for God.

Being unique and standing apart as a Christian means living every day with eyes that see. It means seeing the God glory all around you. Hearing someone’s cry for help and answering it. Providing food for the less fortunate. Giving and expecting nothing in return. This is not a specific call for those called to mission work abroad. God calls us all to be missionaries here and now. In our communities, at our schools, at our jobs. He calls us to make a choice and to stand apart. The Bible says that pure and faultless religion in His sight is to look after the orphan and the widow. To care for them. And to keep oneself unpolluted by the world. In my words, I would say that pure and faultless religion is to stand apart and to take a stand for God. To make a commitment to make a difference. To keep your eyes open for ways to serve and love in every moment, every day. And to love the people around you- the orphans, the widows, the tired, the broken, the hungry, the poor. They are our neighbors, our family members, our co-workers. I am praying for the eyes to see. I am praying for the eyes of Christ and the heart of God. I am taking a stand for Jesus. Will you join me?

You are one.
one heart.
one mind.
one person.

You have great destiny. You are called to change the world.
